How do you clean a memory foam mattress pad?
ByWe have a 3″ memory foam mattress pad and our new puppy tinkled on it! it smells. I tried to spot clean it, but it absorbed alot…. Its kinda really gross… we have been sleeping on the couch until its cleaned…. Any suggestions?
also, we live in an apartment building on the 3rd floor…. its really windy here and hanging things on our balcony isnt an option….

Try washing anti-bacterial soap and let it sit in the sun untill it drys.

I’ve wondered about this issue myself . . . where does liquid go in those mattresses? I asked an owner of one on your behalf, he had no idea and no suggestions.
Maybe you could re-wet the area with a mild cleaning solution, put towels beneath the mattress to absorb liquid, then a towel on top and weight it down with something heavy. That might press the liquid out. Then, air out the mattress as much as you can, i.e. air circulation all around it. Good luck.

There’s a product sold in pet stores called “Nature’s Miracle” – it’s designed to clean urine stains from carpet. It’s a little expensive, but it will work!
