Tempure pedic was the first one, the next one was started by former guys from Tempure pedic. They claim their material is the same as the Tempure pedic stuff.
Memory foam is the common name for a type of flexible polyurethane foam with viscoelastic properties. Memory foam beds are made with a top layer of memory foam and base layers of traditional flexible foam (which are not viscoelastic).
Tempur-pedic has branded their memory foam with the name “Tempur Material” to allow their product to stand out from the crowd of other memory foam mattresses on the market.
Tempur-pedic memory foam beds are excellent. Other high quality memory foam mattresses are also made by the other leading mattress makers, Sealy, Serta, and Simmons as well as online vendors like us: http://www.myluxurymattress.com/
Foam quality and construction varies widely with price. Foam in lower priced beds can be less supportive, not as responsive to movement, or too hard when cold. Also, many lower priced beds are made overseas and not subject to the same health regulations as US made foam beds.
