Double mattress brings double comfort!
Posted by: | CommentsOf course every one of us wants only the best bed and mattress for us—but how will you know which mattress to buy? One of the most loved and bought mattresses nowadays is the memory foam double mattress. Why has the memory foam double mattress reached this popularity? This is primarily because it is made of a substance known as visco elastic. This means that the memory foam double mattress has the capability to store or remember the shape of your body and the positions you take when sleeping.
Memory foam double mattress are known for removing back and joint pains, and even body pains when you sleep on them. Because a memory foam double mattress follows the shape of your body when you are lying down, this gives you a more natural and comfortable feeling unlike mattresses that have springs on them.
If you want to store your memory foam double mattress easily, a small one is a practical buy. The small memory foam double mattress is good for rooms that are tight in space and if only one person will sleep on it. A small memory foam double mattress is also advisable for a child’s use.
The size of the memory foam double mattress that you would purchase actually solely depends on you. You have to check the size of your bedroom first and assess what size of a memory foam double mattress will be best for the size of your bedroom. Also, your budget is a great consideration when purchasing a new double mattress.
When people see a memory foam double mattress, they immediately decide to buy one because of the positive feedback the double mattress has garnered ever since it was brought out it the market. When you ask those who already own these double mattress how they feel when they lie down, they would usually answer that it feels like you’re sleeping on clouds.
Be an informed and empowered buyer—learn how to check and scrutinize the brand and the information given to you by the manufacturers. Also take time to check the internet for comments and reviews by other users on different brands of memory foam double mattress.
The memory foam double mattress was created based on the idea and the design of the special mattresses that are used by astronauts. These special mattresses that are used outer space protect the astronauts’ body from the extreme force that is felt when they stay there. Eventually, it was figured out that the memory foam double mattress can do wonders not just on astronauts but on ordinary people.
Sometimes the term “double mattress” and the “full mattress” are used to mean the same thing. But, it is always recommended that you ask the manufactures and dealers about the sizes because there are brands where the full mattress is a bit smaller than a standard double but bigger than a twin sized mattress. Sometimes, there are also brands that use the full mattress term to refer to mattresses that are bigger than a double but are a bit smaller than the queen size bed.

Tempurpedic Pillow For a Quieter Night’s Sleep
Posted by: | CommentsDid you know the solution to snoring may simply lie with changing to a tempurpedic pillow and mattress? Snoring may be associated with heath problems, and you may require a doctor’s help, but looking first at what you sleep on is a good start.
The Problem with Snoring
The fact is, snoring is bothersome for the one listening to it. But, it may have bad effects to the health of the snorer. Sleep apnea, where the sleeper stops breathing for a time and then snorts or snores, can be fatal or lead to disabling conditions. Some believe that any snoring could be a problem.
Begin with a Good Mattress
Fortunately, there are some simple adjustments you can make to alleviate snoring. And it all begins with a good mattress. Sleeping on your back has been proven to increase both the number of times and degree of snoring. An old mattress may not be as firm, and sag in between causing you to roll onto your back. Make sure your bed gives you the right support for your back so that your spine is properly aligned and your neck is on a good position.
Visco-Elastic Foam Mattress
A good mattress that can prevent sagging is one that is made from visco-elastic memory foam. Its unique feature is that it contours to your body, and at the same time support you with good firmness. And did I say it’s comfortable as well? These are features of the tempur material.
Once you have decided that your mattress is appropriate, take a look at your pillow. If your pillow is thin, you can be sure it’s is not doing your neck any good. Not to mention that the dust mites that make their dwelling in old bedding and pillows can cause your allergies to recur. This could very well cause your snoring to become worse.
The tempurpedic pillow helps support the neck the same way a tempurpedic mattress supports the back. It has a gentle curve that contours to the neck and spine. This decreases the floppiness in the throat that produces an obstructed airway. And a blocked air passageway is the main cause of snoring.
By choosing the right size pillows, you get the just the right curve for your neck. Kids should choose the junior size while most women require the small or medium. Small to average men should choose the medium, but taller or larger men may need the large pillow.
A recent study discovered that most snorers who made the switch to the memory foam pillow had a more productive day and felt more relaxed. Their partners also reported sleeping better because of less snoring.
Summary
While some snoring is dangerous and should be checked out by a doctor, changing your mattress and pillow can be helpful to most people. The tempurpedic foam mattress and pillow work together to align the spine and neck to allow for freer breathing and quieter nights.

Strobel Supple Pedic Organic Mattress Review – Space Age Technology in a Bed!
Posted by: | CommentsLooking for maximum back support and spinal alignment? Well, The Strobel Organic Supple-Pedic just may be what you need. The Strobel Supple-Pedic organic mattress is boasted for its best back support. Prized by it spinal support and alignment, this organic mattress offers high tech space technology in its making. Lets see if this may be just the mattress you were looking for.
The top of the mattress is made of the companies trade mark “Polyfilax” memory foam which is a fluid material that conforms to the shape of your body giving what they call “near perfect” all over support and comfort. This material is similar to what was originally developed for the NASA space program for a pressure relief surface to the astronauts at lift off. Sound impressive? Well, there is more to this Polyfilax material.
It also senses and responds to your body temperature. This takes action once its conformed to your body. The material senses your body heat for… well, more conformity. As impressive as this sounds, I wonder if there would be excess heating going on while sleeping on this organic foam mattress. I personally don’t like my bed that warm, but for those who don’t mind being snug as a bug in a rug, this shouldn’t bother you. Strobel does say however that there is no need to worry about heat build up, due to the open cell structure that breathes.
The Patented “Lever Support System” is what gives this bed the vote for best back support, with 90% less tossing and turning, and clinically proven better sleep by the University of Louisville who conducted the study. The Strobel Organic Supple-Pedic organic mattress works like a teeter-totter. So as your hips and shoulders depress one end, the other end pushes up to support the recessed areas like the small of your back for example. This mattress is truly for those who need and seek back support.
Other perks are that it is flame retardant and uses no chemical adhesives. If the bed gets wet you can separate and dry out the layers. This makes checking for mildew and mold easy. Cleansing for this organic mattress seems fairly easy aswell. It calls for you being able to vacuum and use upholstery cleaners. It comes with a 30 year warranty which is amazing to say the least since standard mattresses usually have a 15 year warranty. This organic foam mattress is also hypoallergenic which is perfect for us allergy sufferers, or those with asthma or other respiratory issues. The Supple-Pedic is also dust mite resistant so don’t worry about the bed bugs biting.
Now there are 3 memory foam thickness to choose from. The 3000 which is a 3 inch Polyfilax memory foam to give the conforming feel that is both soft and comfortable as well as offering firm support. The 4500 is 4.5 inches thick and is said to give more of the comfort and feel of the 3000. The 6000 for the 6 inch thick memory foam gives the 2nd highest level of comfort, soft yet firm support then the other two. And Lastly the 9000 which is the supreme of the four. My opinion is that there probably isn’t much difference between the 3000 and the 4500. So I would opt to choose between the 3000, 6000 and the 9000. Each come with a high quality Damask organic cotton mattress cover that is removable and cleanable.
My only minus really with this mattress is the warming effect that it may have. But overall this is a high quality organic mattress. Great for those with shoulder, back, and hip issues or anyone wanting spinal support and alignment while sleeping. Wonderful for the allergy sensitive and those with respiratory issues like asthma, etc. Eliminating tossing and turning is always a plus so it would be great for those who suffer from insomnia because of the comfort level and organic cover.

Memory Foam or Air Mattress?
Posted by: | CommentsThere are many types of beds that can provide us with so much sleep comfort that choosing one would be a difficult endeavor. We’ll explore only the memory foam types and air mattresses. By the end of this article, you would have a glimpse of which is the better one for you. Not all people will have the same choice.Pressure PointsMemory foam and air mattresses both minimize pressure points on specific areas of the body. When lying on your back, the pressure points are almost spread evenly from your feet up to your shoulders. The same applies if you lie on your sides or on your belly. The pressure points are most noticeable when you lie on a hard surface such as wood. These mattresses molds or adjusts to the contour of your body in different ways. Memory Foam MattressesThese types as the name suggests, ‘memorizes’ your shape and adjusts to it accordingly. Memory foams reacts to the heat of your body by becoming soft. Within a few minutes, the heated areas become softer allowing that part of your body to sink. The greater the pressure impressed on the material, the more heat is absorbed and thereby the softer the area becomes.Obviously when you are lying on your back, the areas where the buttocks and shoulders rest will become softer than the other areas making deeper imprints. It will be visible when your rise but after a few minutes it will come back to its original shape. One thing to notice about this is that the effect is not instant, a few minutes will lapse before the material adjusts to the contours of your body as it absorbs heat. Changing positions will take another time for the mattress to adjust the softness of the heated areas.Air MattressesThe effects of these mattresses are easier to imagine. The air in the specific area where pressure is exerted will be displaced and be distributed to other areas. The effect will be the same, the shape of the surface will conform to the shape of your body with pressure as the basis.Unlike memory foams where you have to wait awhile before the mattress adjusts to the contours of your body while air mattresses adjusts instantly. The softness of air mattresses can be adjusted by the amount of air inside it. You can adjust the softness through a remote control device if one is provided. This could be very convenient because you can adjust it to your most comfortable level.Your choiceNow you see the difference between these two types of mattress with regards to the softness and how it can relieve pressure points to give you a comfortable sleep. Both these types can last for more than 10 years. To have a good night’s rest can remove stress, fear, anxiety or depression you have accumulated from the emotional and nervous pressures experienced during the day. Many healing goes on internally in our bodies while sleeping. To enhance your sleep and rest means you are helping your body do its healing mechanisms more efficiently and thereby gain better health.
Sleep on an air mattress to relieve yourself of stress and anxiety. Achieve more comfort with a king size mattress.

Buyer’s Guide to Beds
Posted by: | Comments1. Invest in qualityNigel Cairns of Bedworld says, ‘The one golden rule is that you pay for what you get. The more you pay for your new bed or mattress then the better the quality will be.’ A bed will continue to lose its comfort and support year after year so buy the most expensive one that you can afford. A good quality bed should last ten years.2. The seven year itchAccording to the Sleep Council, ‘the critical ’seven year itch’ can be a make or break moment for many marriages and mattresses’. If your mattress is more than seven years old it almost certainly needs replacing. Decide whether you want an open coil, pocket sprung, latex or foam mattress with the help of our Buyer’s guide to mattresses. But first take the Sleep Council’s MOT quiz and assess the state of your sleeping equipment.3. Roll aroundTry the bed in all of the sleeping positions you tend to use, not only on your back,’ says Lucy Benham, assistant buyer for beds at John Lewis. ‘Place your hand in the small of your back and try to move it about. If it moves too easily, the bed may be too hard for you; if it’s a struggle to move your hand, then the bed is too soft. If you can move your hand with just a little resistance, the bed may be just right for you.’ Sleep easy on this Hotel 4-poster bed (£925) from John Lewis.4. To slat or not?Adam Black, of bed specialists Feather & Black says, ‘Flat wooden slats are the equivalent of placing the mattress on the floor. Always opt for a sprung base, be it a sprung divan or sprung beech slats.’ Foam mattresses are ideal for slatted bases as the springs on other mattresses will push through the slats over time and shorten the life of your mattress. Their Well Base bed(£654.75 for a super–king) combines the comfort of a divan with the contemporary look of a bed base. Superior style and comfort. Stephen George, bedroom furniture buyer for Harrods, is even more specific. ‘If going for slats, we recommend that they should be sprung timber slats, not be more than 6cms apart,’ he says.5. Supersize me’Opt for the largest bed size the room can accommodate’, says Black. ‘Small beds are fine when you are getting on well with whoever you share it with, but tend to seem much smaller at those other times’. The Sleep Council says a regular four foot six double bed gives two sleepers less space than the size of a baby’s cot. But, warns Toby Ash of New Heights, ‘Consider the other furniture you have in the room and ensure that you have sufficient space around the bed to make the room functional. Mark out the size of the bed you are considering on your floor to ensure it is not going to be an obstacle.’ Feather & Black’s regal–looking Highgrove bed (£439.44) from will ensure sweet dreams.6. Upholstered headboard’Solid wooden beds will last longer than veneered ones,’ says Adam Black. ‘Buying upholstered headboardswhich have removable covers makes sense. You can clean and dry-clean the covers once in a while and you can always give your bedroom a facelift by updating the fabric on the headboard.’ As for the end of the bed, Toby Ash of New Heights says ‘high footboards can look great in large rooms with high ceilings but taller people may find a low footboard more comfortable and less restrictive.’7. Keep the bed bugs awaySensitive types should opt for a hypo-allergenic mattress like this king-size Rockingham mattress(£1,995) from The Conran Shop which will help asthma and breathing problems. Their anti-dust mite properties will stop you from sneezing all night long.8. Matchmaker, matchmakerHow do you match the mattress to the base? ‘These days almost all quality mattresses perform just as well on a slatted base as they would on a sprung divan,’ says Black. However, he warns salesmen will confuse customers by linking mattress performance to a particular base to make a double sale.9. Guest bedsGuest/folding and storage beds provide flexible solutions for overnight guests. With a small bedroom, it makes sense to use your bed as a secondary storage option. Opt for a Platinum raised inflatable aerobed (£176) from John Lewis.10. Ready built or flat pack?Make sure you find out from retailers whether they will deliver the bed in one piece or whether you’ll need to put it together yourself. These days there are flat pack options that extend far beyond IKEA. The Bourne double bed (now £238.98, was £269.98) from Furniture123 is simple and chic.
